Again, thank you to all who have posted here and sent me PMs. I have good news.

My father, after the most harrowing month of any of our lives, has finally been moved from ICU to step down ICU!

He is getting better, breathing on his own and able to eat. He doesn't remember much of what happened (Thank God).

He has yet to ask what happened to his lower leg and foot (amputated) but he any day I suspect he will ask "Where's the rest of me?".

Thank you again for all the prayers and well wishes, they worked!

Still practicing hope,

Lynn

Hey guys,

Sad news to report. After such a heroic struggle my Dad's heart finally gave out this morning and he passed away.

You will never know how much the many well wishes, support and prayers have meant.

Lynn, I am so very sorry for your loss. It doesn't matter how long we "stand in the doorway and wave good-bye," shutting that door is difficult and heart wrenching. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers.

Dearest Lynn:

It's so sad. I know there are no words I can give to comfort you. My heartfelt sympathies are with you. I'm sure he was a fine man. You are the proof.

Lynn:

After 4 years I still pick up the phone to call Mom about a book, recipe, or movie before I realize what's happening. Since losing Dad this past June, I know how hard it is to lose both parents, no matter how old you are. That feeling of refuge will never be replaced.

Just remember, you have a lot of friends here who will gladly listen if you want to reminisce about your favorite times with him, or even when you made him angry.

We're all here for you and wishing our thoughts will help.
