I was astonished to learn two things today about Veronica Lake: how sadly her life wound up and that she was only 4' 11" tall.

She had so many difficulties and had to prove herself many times in her Hollywood Career and I consider her the underdog of American Actresses that stands tall in the works that she did. I know how sadly her life wound up mainly to alcohol and mental illness and so forth. She always be a favorite of mine and one of the and of the most critically acclaimed actresses in the 40's.
4'11" didn't helped much, but she was a fighter ... a great film noir actress too!
