3. A vile human being, but if I have to pick a favorite role, it would be in Sergeant York (1941)

In the biographies I've read about Hawks and Ford, both books said Walter Brennan was a nuisance on set and he simply never shut up!!

Kingrat, thanks for reminding me of Love Letters for Gladys Cooper, love her performance and the film, Jennifer and Joseph were always great together, beautiful film.

Gladys Cooper was a MAJOR British actress, not a 'character' actor per se. She had a significant career on the stage and she played complex roles as a matriarch in many films.
