Considering the TCM Special Theme: Disability Reclaimed, I'd like to share this with everyone.
Woof! You've Got Mail!
Re: What are you listening to?
When I became infatuated with musical theater as a kid, one of my favorite albums was the original 1949 Broadway cast album of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The movie can't compete with the 1920s feel of the show and the Broadway pizzazz of Carol Channing and Yvonne Adair. Many of the songs from the show were dropped from the movie, including this number, which (as a native New Yorker fascinated by 1920s New York), is one of my favorites. You can hear Alice Pearce, who had a supporting role, sing one of the lyrics. ("I burp when I drink Vichy.")
