What are you listening to?
Re: What are you listening to?
George Harliono from the UK. Joint Silver Medallist in the recent Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition held in Moscow: he's playing the Schubert "Wanderer Fantasy" in C Major, D760.
Re: What are you listening to?
A classic Big Band song where the vocal begins after a minute of instrumental, for dancing of course.
"Swing And Sway With Sammy Kaye."
Not to be confused with:
"Swing And Sweat With Charlie Barnet."

THE RAINMAKER (1956)
That TANYA record charted on the Top 40 Pop... all the way to #37. It was a smash on Country charts.

Schumann, "Myrthen Op. 25: Widmung" Thomas Quasthoff:
Schumann/Liszt "Myrthen: Widmung",Daniil Trifonov: (too mannered and with a little too much vibrato!).
The same transcription played by Martha Argerich! Ah, that's better:

I found a song from "Follow The Fleet" that you might be interested in. Irving Berlin's "Get Thee Behind Me Satan" sung by Ricky Nelson's mother, Harriet Hilliard in 1936!! What an interesting song and fascinating melody - in the minor mode in descending semi-tones. Ergo, very chromatic in character. (Satan in the form of Randolph Scott - yeah, right!!!)
Re: What are you listening to?
Another song from my favorite WWII channel on Accuradio.
