I saw this at the Cleveland Cinematheque about 20 years ago and was very impressed. Alberto Sordi is a wonderful comedian, and I loved the scenes in which he introduces his northern Italian wife to his Sicilian family.

It is an interesting film that mixes comedy with a pretty realistic reenactment of the murder of Albert Anastasia.

Caught this by chance, missing the beginning, and was really surprised how much I liked it. Reminded me of much of the Godfather saga, but with more humor. Does anyone know if Coppola might have used any of this for inspiration?
