GINO WASHINGTON, great record. But not to be confused with Geno Washington who had several minor hits in the UK in the 60’s which are now considered Northern Soul classics. Discovered by guitarist Pete Gage. Geno was stationed in England with the US Air force. Upon leaving he formed Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band and toured extensively. Apparently his live shows were something to behold. He’s still around, still recording, still touring, and still a legend. Dexy’s Midnight Runners dedicated a song to him.

And here's a video from 1974. It's here for no other reason than that I think Elkie Brooks is amazingly sexy and a fabulous singer. She's also married to Pete Gage, formerly of the Geno Washington And The Ram Jam Band. And yes, that's Robert Palmer on guitar.

small town girls
Happy birthday Mrs.Arkadin. Lovely song Mr.Arkadin, it's a favorite of mine to. Thanks for posting. My wife is also a small town girl. From Bogalusa (where?) to be exact. The whole town smells like boiled cabbage because of the stink from the papermill.

Who could say no to a little Yes? I always dug Trevor Rabin's stint with the band. The guy's a great singer (much better than Jon Anderson who always drove me nuts), an amazing recording engineer, writer, and let's not forget he plays guitar! Here's some great live footage from the 90125 tour:

Leave It They opened the show with this one and blew everyone's mind.

Owner of a Lonely Heart Gotta play the hits. Seriously though, this version has a small screen, but it's much more energetic than some of the other live versions out there.
