OMG, Dewey - The Kane Triplets. Haven't thought about them in years. They were born in Brooklyn, and they had five or six older brothers and sisters. They were all over the place when I was little - commercials, local appearances, etc.
One of them was bumped off, Mafia style (she was an adult at the time).

Here they are back then, performing with the McGuire Sisters (who knew a thing or two about the Mafia themselves). This appears to be video only.

First you dream. Then you die.

I have more than enough fingers to count the novels I’ve read in the past
30 years. Can’t do it. Give me history, biography, theology, film analysis
and I’m happy.

Wednesday evening, I bought Rendezvous in Black by Cornell Woolrich.
This morning, I finished it. So, as night falls (somewhere in the world),
this is dedicated to the pulp noir poet.

The Soft Boys and Robyn Hitchcock?, ChiO, you are my hero!

How about an encore featuring Mr. Hitchock with Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe

Sam Phillips. Leonard Chess. Jerry Wexler. For me,
the Trinity of non-performers in Rock’n’Soul. Jerry Wexler, the man
who gave us the terms “Rhythm’n’Blues” and “Country’n’Western” and,
more importantly, these records. He left us on Friday. The world is a lot
less soulful.

Forty-some years ago, Sunday night for many of us meant “A Little
Tea with Goldie”, the latest Vatican gossip from Father Guido Sarducci,
and seeing a favorite musical performer. Here are some favorite musical
moments from The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.

The WHO “My Generation”

JEFFERSON AIRPLANE “White Rabbit”

DONOVAN “Atlantis”

The DOORS “Touch Me”

John Martyn - Solid Air
from John Martyn's superb 1972 album Solid Air. A song he wrote for Nick Drake.

Off-key singing from the great GTO's. Not quite nails on a chalkboard.

Two great covers of Richard Thompson songs.

R.E.M. - Wall Of Death

The Del McCoury Band - 1952 Vincent Black Lightning

I see angels on Ariels in leather and chrome
Swooping down from heaven to carry me home
And he gave her one last kiss and died
And he gave her his Vincent to ride.

Have a good monday.
