Starting the day with doo-wop and Roger Miller ... a combination
that can't be beat! Thanks you guys!!!!

Here's a really peculiar 1960 version of "Little Darlin" I stumbled upon
in my Youtube wanderings ... performed by the Rocky Fellers on
the Dinah Shore Show. The Rocky Fellers start performing about 40
seconds into the video.

Lisa, despite their name, I always assumed the Rocky Fellers were girls, never having seen them perform. (I mean, come on - just listen to them.) If you look back on this thread a bit, you'll see an entry I posted of "Killer Joe," their biggest hit. Oh, boy -- just typing that name has started that song playing in my head, and I probably won't get rid of it all day.

I didn't make the connection, having always assumed
that "Killer Joe" was sung by an early 60's girl group!
(who I never heard of) ...
Just listened to Killer Joe again. It will now be lodged in

DJ ChiO - thanks for dropping Jeremiah Peabody into the mix!
I searched for it this morning but it was apparently hiding in plain
sight! One of my most favorite Ray Stevens tunes was his first
"serious" song, "Funny Man" from early 1963. I couldn't find Ray
doing it, but I uncovered this version by a group called PASTIME
and they really nail it. Check it out!

ditty "Hey There Delilah" by THE PLAIN WHITE T's. This year's model
is a little bit different. And a lot funnier. The new version is somewhat
"R" rated, so be advised!
