Thanks for sharing your faves. The directors are still all a blur to me, when I see a name I recognize I don't think of a "style" just an "Oh, boy, here we go" or a "Great!!!!". Have patience, I'm still learning!

Is it the one with Romeo Carey that was tied to the showing of THE WORLD'S GREATEST SINNER? That I have seen and recorded, but if there is another....

Really? That doesn't seem like your kind of movie.

IMDb says that Timothy Carey's in it, I responded impatiently.

And sure enough, near the end, with no dialogue, he walks across the screen...and makes it all worthwhile. Of his 50+ film appearances (not counting made-for-TV movies), I have only seen 19 (and have 13 of those on some form of recording). Plus a beautiful half-sheet of BAYOU and a few photos from THE KILLING OF A CHINESE BOOKIE. Those of us who watched Baretta, Charlie's Angels or Columbo TV movies during their formative years, must have him etched in memory.

May 11 marks the 15th year of his genius passing from this plane to another. And, to think, no screen credit in THE WILD ONE, CRIME WAVE, or EAST OF EDEN.

I may be in a minority here.

The key phrase here is "no matter what the film is about"; I know there are hundreds and thousands of movies that were made in the past 50-75 years and way I look it at it; if there is a Gene Kelly movie on TCM and I see the title of the film - before I watch that particular movie ... I always use the IMDb to find out what kind of movie it is. If this movie is ...

Not my Cup of Tea ... ... and this means one thing ... I don't watch it.

Because of the subject matter, film genre, and/or million other things as well ... like an certain actor/actress that you can't stand watching ... that's also taken into considerations. For example I refused to watch any Rita Hayworth's movies right after she finished making "CIRCUS WORLD" because she was on a downward path from that point on and people in my mind exploiting her, making a mockery out of her, and no one quite understand the medical conditions that she was facing at this time. That Alzheimer's disease (at that time its was in its infancy) that I'm talking about. I've seen every Rita Hayworth and Glenn Ford movies except "Money Trap" ... I have a friend of mine who live in Los Angeles and he have a copy of that movie in VHS format back before DVD's came on and I refused to watch it because it's pains me to see a legendary actress like Rita being shown like this ... I saw clips of its and I vowed myself to not to see any of her films right after Circus World. It's hurts me to watch them. It's makes me .

This is my way of saying ... forget it. I don't have a list of actors/actresses here ... but, to me its all about making a choice here and frankly I have a very difficult time watching certain types of movies that offended me (there is quite of few of them in my lifetime and I actually walked out the theater with friends that doesn't understand why) greatly. So, my friends called me up and asked me why ... I told them why and they understand why I walked out and totally respected my opinion and did not make fun of me. They even learned a thing or two from me.

This thread is very enlightening to me and gave me times to think about what all of you said here. I'm kind of moviegoer that takes time to educate what the movie is all about; if this movie is not "my cup of tea" I don't watch it period - its doesn't matter its has your favorite actor/actress in it.

I maybe in the minority here ... but, I wanted to share my thoughts on this thread from a different perspective and/or angle here.
