Paula, if Mr. Baker is a Stanwyck fan and a dog lover he is OK with me.

Pat without her glasses bears a striking resemblance to Janet Gaynor. I never noticed before.

I don't know who Simon Baker is, but all I have to say is "woof".

And I adore that photo of Betty, Charlotte, and Carole from Moon Over Miami - one of my favorite movies.

Simon Baker is currently starring in a very popular TV series on CBS called "The Mentalist", of which the first season's disc one is coming tomorrow on my Netflix queue.

Thursday nights, Anne. Usually right after CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He's British, but you wouldn't know it from hearing his lack of an accent - just like Hugh Laurie on House. Occasionally, it's shown before and after CSI during the summer rerun season. I like the show very much and enjoy the interaction of the various characters.

Of course, with Big Bang Theory moving to Thursdays next season, it remains to be seen how it affects the scheduling for the remainder of the Thursday night line-up. Imagine Patrick Jane (Baker's character) analyzing Gregory House... fireworks galore.

Thank you, Mongo, for remembering Barbara Loden, director of one of my Top Ten movies, WANDA. A beautiful spirit.

Simon Baker is Australian, not British. :)

Surely you all remember him as Matt Reynolds in L.A.Confidential? That's where I first saw him and became an instant fan. I've followed his career avidly ever since. :)

SImon in L.A. Confidential, with the back of Kevin Spacey's head. ;)

Since this movie takes place in the 1950s, and IMHO is a classic, I hope this is on-topic. :)

ChiO, it's my pleasure. I was always struck by Ms. Loden's performance as Ginny in "Splendor in the Grass".

MERINGUE MAKE-UP FOR BETTE DAVIS – The actress gladly stopped a pie with her face when Hollywood observed V-J Day in 1945. This command encore delighted 2,000 G.I.s at Camp Cooke, California. Dancer Johnny Coy, the chucker, grins in anticipation.
