I'm not sure if this song is already here, but if not it should be. Today's paper reports that Hank Medress of The Tokens passed away this week. Medress had a long and successful career as a record producer after The Tokens stopped recording.

The Tokens was a Brooklyn group (named after the subway token) who met at Lincoln High School in the Brighton Beach neighborhood. I think that Neil Sedaka was one of the original Tokens when they performed locally.

Here is one my favorite Tokens songs, and one of my favorite songs, period - The Lion Sleeps Tonight. I'm not sure which one Medress is here; I remember that the lead singer was Jay Siegel, and he is now Dr. Jay Siegel:

Judith - Thanks for sharing that sad info about Hank Medress with us here at the Record Party. Hank will surely be missed! THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT is also one of my top favorite songs of all time and it's making its first appearance here! Thanks, thanks, thanks!

How bout a little Todd Rundgren?

Here he is doing one of my favorites The Last Ride from the 1974 double album "Todd".

And how could you have TR without his side project Utopia here they are with One World (it's our world--yeah, yeah  ). Dig Todd's interesting skeleton pants and if you look closely you will see their friends Cheap Trick also in the video.
