"Chief"! Hey, did anyone see the MGM short subject on poor driving that was shown on TCM yesterday? Was Platt the highway patrolman in it? It was driving me crazy. I kept thinking it was Lloyd Nolan, but no.... so familiar. Now I think it was a young Platt with dark hair. Is this possible?mongoII wrote:BORN ON VALENTINE'S DAY
EDWARD PLATT (1916 - 1974)
Moraldo, if you are referring to the very dramatic footage (real and staged) in Traffic With the Devil (1946) that was shown between Coney Island and Mother Wore Tights yesterday, I saw it too. I don't think Ed Platt was in it, though I can see that Sgt. Charles Reineke (a real LA traffic cop back then) did have a resemblance to The Chief. If you'd like to see this short again, it is one of the DVD extras on The Katharine Hepburn Collection (Morning Glory / Undercurrent / Sylvia Scarlett / Without Love / Dragon Seed / The Corn Is Green [1979]) (1933).Moraldo Rubini wrote:"Chief"!
