Kingmen, you might recall Miss Hayes as one of the teachers in "Blackboard Jungle". I believe she got sexually attacked by one of the juveniles in the library.

Maggie Hayes is one of my favorites. Some movies she was in are Good Day for a Hanging, The Case Against Brooklyn,
The Bottom of the Bottle, Violent Saturday, Blackboard Jungle and The Glass Key(which was on TCM just the other day).
She also did lots of TV. Check her out IMDB.

Would not Mickey have made a great Cagney in a biopic? The energy those two shared. I recall at one point there was talk of Michael J. Fox playing Cagney in a TV bio. I can see that. Sadly the biopic, along with a discussed Broadway musical, never happened. Unlikely ever will.

Mongo, I'm reading an advance copy of the new Lee Marvin book, Point Blank, and birthday boy Alvy Moore was interviewed and quoted quite a bit because he was a friend and neighbor of Lee Marvin's. Moore might best be remembered for his stint on Green Acres as Mr. Campbell, but had a long and varied career as a character actor in film and television. Here's a candid for Mongo's "Beefcake" file. ;)
Yes, it's Roy Rogers, probably as you've never seen him before. :) This is from Movie Life Yearbook 1950, Vol. 1, no. 10. :)

Hi,
Happy Birthday to Agnes Moorehead; what a wonderful picture of her - gorgeous and smiling - that's how I remember her.... Thanks again, Joe!!!
Dear Paula - thanks for the great picture of Roy Rogers... How I adored him when I was a kid - he was the only 'movie star' I recognized from the movies, until TV came along and I suddenly understood that some aquaintances were in the movies too!!! Duh - I was a late learner, I guess...
Roy looks very good and could have been a leading man off his horse too......

Nice pic of Jane Wyman with her "button" nose (love that denomination).
The color picture of Daves, Bogey and Agnes is beautifully shot. I love the color pictures of the 1930s and 1940s. They have a special quality to them. I remember watching a young Delmer Daves in the MGM film "Good News" (1930) and he had that same abundant, very curly hair.
