Very few actors and actresses ever receive such high honor - she worked long hours overseas and was over there during the great BATTLE OF THE BULGE and gave up her CHRISTMAS back home so she can entertain our troops over here. She even recruited major Hollywood Stars and was deeply honored and committed to the task.

Marlene Dietrich - A very rare breed of actress and one of the best in the business and served our country heart, mind, and soul. I have great respect for her as a human being first and everything else 2nd.

Medal of Freedom is a rare honor to bestow on a civilian - and Marlene Dietrich a REAL CLASS ACT. I admire her greatly.
