Remembering the days when your town’s Top 40 was different than my
town’s, here are some WLS Silver Dollar Survey tunes from this week in
1967 that didn’t hit the Top 40 nationally.

At #5, Chi-Town Faves with a record this DJ plays everyday,
The CRYAN’ SHAMES “It Could Be We’re in Love”

It’s Bubblegum stuck at #24, The THIRD RAIL “Run, Run, Run”

At #27, no longer Eric or Jeff’s band, and now covering a Manfred
Mann
record, The YARDBIRDS “Ha Ha Said the Clown”

Coming in for a landing at a very groovy and far-out #34,
JEFFERSON AIRPLANE “Ballad of You & Me & Pooneil”

With a couple of dudes from a greasy favorite, The Swingin’
Medallions
, at #38 it’s PIECES OF EIGHT “Lonely Drifter”

Mr. Arkadin, God bless you for posting those videos. One of my all time favorite people. The amazing and wonderful Kate Bush. A totally unique and unusual talet. What an imagination she has. Crazy and unselfconsciously weird. I literally wore out three copies of her album ‘Hounds Of Love’ (on vinyl) in the late 1980’s.

I beg the indulgence of all ‘DEWEY'S RECORD PARTY!’ D.J.’s whilst Mr. Arkadin and I have our Kate Bush festival.

Hounds of Love is one of the most amazing records ever made. The mix is just incredible.
Check out this version of Running Up That Hill by a fan:

My introduction to Kate was Lionheart, which I still love (Analog 2" never sounded fatter than this record):

Where were you, say…100 years ago? Well, Mrs.ChiO’s mother,
on September 14, 1908, was born in a mountain village in southern
Greece. Fit as a fiddle, she still presides over her children (and their
spouses), grandchildren (and their spouses), and great-grandchildren
from a Chicago suburb. I’m counting on her to deliver the eulogy at
my funeral. Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Yayah! That's quite impressive.

She might be interested in seeing this YouTube comparison of 1908 and 2008. Note especially the life expectancy of the past era.

Sunday morning and no rain (I hear those guys in Chicago are getting what's left of our hurricane)! Some titles for a morning mood: Sunshine or Pourdown

Free - Ride On a Pony

I don't know these guys, but they do a credible version of Wayne Shorter's Fall from the Miles Davis Nefertiti album.
Fall

I'll throw in a twofer here with Wayne Shorter at least playing the title track to his song. Wish I could find the album cuts, but these are not bad.
Nefertiti

Van Morrison - Into the Mystic
A word here, there's not a lot of Van Morrison on youtube. Instead, there are many people who mistakenly think they can sing his songs. Hopefully, this will be corrected in the future, but in the meantine beggars can't be choosers:

Pat Metheny - April Joy
