I am freezing here in NYC. And today we had some small snow accumulate.

But it is nothing compared to what you folks are going through, Fossy. Stay safe. Please be careful. I wish you and all well down under.

Thank you all for those thoughts.

I was eventually able to contact Jaimee. She was not in Gladstone, but in Brisbane visiting her mother. I have another granddaughter, Kimberly, who lives in Denver. I suppose she will appreciate the snow. She is a keen skier, and worked at Arapahoe Valley for several years, but now works at Copper Mountain.

On the lighter side...

355 days.

That's Chicago's new record of consecutive days without 1" of recorded snowfall.

On Friday night/Saturday morning, we received...1.1" of snow.

<yawn>

It's all but gone now. It'll be 50 degrees Fahrenheit in a day or so.

...beats me ChiO. Why, Arizona and Florida are a veritable polar icecaps compared to the balmy breezes Chicago in February.

We've had the freakiest weather I've ever known. A snowstorm on Friday/Saturday leaving 12 cm which is nothing for some of you. Then a big melt and it was all gone by yesterday.

5 inches, not that impressive but enough for the traffic to grind to a near halt during rush hour.

As long as we don't lose power, we're fine. It will probably turn out to be about 10 inches, they always overestimate, but I'm not averse to more as long as we can stay safe inside and have heat and water.
