Hi Ken,

You've hit the proverbial nail on the head...

The NDP seat won in Edmonton is being recounted but not diputed at this hour; but that result will probably be correct = NDP has a seat in Alberta (unheard of previously!!).....

The Bloc Quebecois should be outlawed. It is not a national party and most members were Liberal before anyway. Quebec is a Liberal province historically, just as Alberta is (was) a totally Conservative one.
I'm not sure if the Bloc can be really blamed for Harper's minority as the Liberals would have more or less won in Quebec beforehand.
Ontario is where he fell down - especially Toronto. Also, he failed to capture Vancouver enmass and here we need the big cities to win a majority (Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver)..

But, your analysis is correct as the results stand...

Now, on to American politics!!!
