Dear Stuart, hope you had a happy Christmas.

Thanks for the clips, they bring back lots of fond memories.

'The Good Life' (titled 'Good Neighbors' in the US), probably my favorite British sit-com of all time. The episode where Tom, Barbara, Margot and Jerry get drunk is classic, Penelope Keith was hilarious.

There used to be more British TV shows on TV in the US than there are now. Sadly 99% of our TV programming is down-market crap for the masses. Even PBS doesn't show as many as they used to, and BBC America is a total disappointment. I wish someone would stuff Ramsay's head in a food processor.

My son gave me the BBC DVD of 'Red Dwarf - All The Shows' for Christmas. That'll keep me busy for a while.

See if you can put a name to this show for me - It was from the late sixties or early seventies. All I remember (vaguely) is the opening credits, spooky music and a deserted fun-fare at night. The show was somewhat supernatural in nature I think.

All I can think of was Randall And Hopkirk,, but I don't recall any funfare, though it's maybe The Prisoner you're thinking off. RAH was an adventure series with a super natural content. Mike Pratt, who sadly died young, plays PI Jeff Randall and Kenneth Cope was his ghostly ex-partner
Marty Hopkirk, who helped him solve cases. It's funny, before Kenny got his break, he played Jed Stone in Coronation Street. Now 40s yrs Kenny is back playing Jed in the same soap opera
