I always liked John Dehner. Ever since discovering the radio version of "Gunsmoke," I've liked him more, as he seemed to be the bad guy plugged by Matt Dillon nearly every other week.

It's funny when you listen to "Gunsmoke" episodes back to back on a long drive. In one, William Conrad (Matt) says to Dehner: "I don't believe I've seen you around here before."

And I shouted: "Yes you have. You shot him last week!"

The Western Channel is showing the seldom-seen Budd Boetticher-Randolph Scott movie "Westbound" tonight at 9:30 PM Eastern.

This is not part of the Ranown cycle. Boetticher supposedly made this for Warner Brothers so they would let him make "The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond."

Yes, they advertised they're doing a "Six Gun Salute" to Randolph Scott today.

It's turning out to be a good tribute. Most of the movies are 'seldom seen'. The Boettiger ones I've seen several times each both on The Western Channel and TCM. But these today are all different.

I, personally am having a ball.
