Just ran some data through the ol' Univac computer we keep in the basement for such occasions. We know, of course, that Howard Hawks received more points than Michael Powell in the nominating round because he ended up as the higher seed. Michael Powell, however, received more nominations (11-9).* And only one person nominated both Hawks and Powell. So, if we take that one vote from Powell, then he wins 10-9.

Wow! Let's call it a day and send those Hawks voters home.


* The Univac also provided another interesting tidbit. The itinerant interloper who keeps littering this thread and trying to work normally calm, thinking people into a frenzy...well...just ask him where he ranked HH on his nominations list. Hmmmm.

Murphy and Bently want to vote (there was dire talk of no puppy treats) and they both vote Howard Hawks.....
