Hopefully Quentin Tarantino doesn't hate Walsh for playing an assassin.

I'll wager no one on this message board will go see "DJANGO UNCHAINED" but as soon as the holidays are over, I'll be checking it out in all its multiplexed / box office g( l )ory. I think Tarantino totally understands classic films and all its genres. A friend who saw the film already said he can see Tarantino's vision as more Samuel Fuller than Sergio Leone. I don't plan to be insulted like Spike Lee says. I plan to have a rip-roaring time with Tarantino's subversion of history.

I thought he knew classic films, too, but publicity is the name of the game and I know only too well how Hollywood works. I admit Inever even heard of the movie until this week so he's accomplished that much! :D I've never been able to watch one of his films, from what little I've seen they're a bit too much of too many things I don't like, but I hope you have fun! :)

I hear ya. He's not for everybody. Gee I'd love to read about how you know how Hollywood works. I could use a manual to avoid the pitfalls. I see me dropping into every Hollywood manhole. And I'm from New York.

Oh, you'll do much better than me, I'm sure! I was too chicken in the end and hadn't enough gumption to fight.

Just tread carefully and remember what they really mean when they tell you: "Trust me."
:D :D

I'm from Kentucky. What's a manhole?

Maybe I knew Walsh played Booth at one time. I sure had forgotten it, though! That's fascinating. It's not just some throwaway character. It's John Wilkes ****ing Booth!

Tarantino clearly has talent. He values some elements I could live without. But he knows how to keep a story moving. This is the first I've heard of a controversy over his new movie. Something about assassins?

Ha, I was just making a little pun, Red, because Tarantino recently said he hated John Ford and his movies because he played one of the hooded Klansmen in Birth of a Nation, etc.

I'm going to see Django Unchained simply because whatever Tarantino does, it's different and it's interesting, plus he knows how to make a movie. I also thought he knew classic films and was always respectful of the old masters, but maybe not so much...ah, la publicite!

Love the photos, Miss G! Especially the one of Bogie and Walsh, they look like two peas in a pod, and it's great to see Bogie smiling so big. I've always thought that Walsh was the spitting image of Booth, it was great casting on Griffith's part.

I was this close to saying Linda Cristal. What a fantastic looking couple.

So is your couple! That particular shot almost looks like it could be from a German film from the Expressionist period and not Capra. At first I thought it was something from Murnau until I recognized the scene. :D
