Taking just a moment to thank all of our wonderful and
beautifully brilliant DJs who contribute so much to this nutty
place--and to all those who merely stop by to listen: The
merriest and happiest of holly daze to everyone from the
ever-lovin' Record Party!

Oh, ChiO, what a holiday for you. I think it should be spelled "holidaze", don't you? Hope you are safe and sound at home, and DRY.

I got a much appreciated holiday present over the weekend: another season's worth of DVDs of one of the most signficant TV shows of recent years, and one that should mean a great deal to women of my generation. I hear guys like it, too.

Happy New Year to all! Let's operate on the premise that next year just has to be better than this last one (actually, than the last eight).

Here's a very funny video, which you may have seen before, and which is not New Year-related, but I'd like to share it with you, for a laugh. Anyone who has ever been a parent, or a child of a parent, will probably appreciate it. It was emailed to me by a fellow mother (sister mother?) friend of mine who lives in Taiwan. (Where it will become the Year of the Ox at the end of January.)

Oh, bummer, man! Another passing. The great blues rocker Delaney Bramlett has died at age 69. With his then wife/partner Bonnie, the group Delaney and Bonnie and Friends was a big presence on the concert scene in the 60s and 70s. I saw them perform many times in the NY area when I was a student. Delaney was very highly regarded by his peers, and was especially admired by both George Harrison and Eric Clapton.

Here are Delaney and Bonnie and Friends with "Where There's a Will"
