Hey, Hollis – Here’s a bar bet question. Who has the most records
hitting #2 on the Billboard Pop Singles Chart without ever getting to #1?
Answer: Creedence Clearwater Revival (5 #2s and no #1s).
And here’s another –

Q: Who has had the most records on the Billboard Pop Singles Chart without ever having a #1?
Choices:

(b) The Godfather of Soul
(c) Soul Brother No. 1
(d) JAMES BROWN
(e) All of the above.

that almost killed me, listening to the latest incarnation
of the only oldies station left in the Bay Area, and
was dee-lighted to hear

Hey, DJ Guys & Gals!
Besides the major losses today of Mssrs. McGoohan & Montalban, I also learned that several days ago we lost a certain Mr. Henry Endo, whom many of us cherished, as younger folks, in the recurring, genre-founding role of police lab technician Che Fong on Hawaii Five-O {and thus was the Empire of Grand Geekdom born!} . . . and hey, weren't we just grooving to that theme music last weekend?!
Anyway, I ransacked YouTube for a capture featuring Mr. Endo, and sadly, couldn't find any, but DID find the following, which I thought was just too rippin' cool not to share.
(And I promise, I'll get off the whole TV theme kick soon & post some real music, 'kay?)

There was a nice video of NRBQ's My Car on youtube, but it looks like its been pulled. As consolation, I offer former guitar frontman Al Anderson playing the tune live with his solo band:
