DJ Bryce and I made an odyssey, much like Ulysses, to hear Ken

Forty-five years ago this week--JANUARY 30, 1964—these
were some of the forty-fives the kids in Detroit were listening
to on WKNR radio:
#1 THE BEATLES “I Want To Hold Your Hand”

#3 THE BEATLES “She Loves You”

#4 LESLEY GORE “You Don’t Own Me”

#5 THE RIVIERAS “California Sun”

#9 EDDIE HOLLAND “Leaving Here”

#14 MARY WELLS “What’s Easy For Two”

#15 THE SAPPHIRES “Who Do You Love”

Sad to hear of the passing of John Martyn yesterday. Not well known in the US (except by me and a few others), but a legend elsewhere. His wonderfull 1973 'Solid Air' album is one of my Desert Island Disks.

John Martyn and Danny Thompson - Solid Air

Oh Jesus I've been there, living on nothing but solid air.

Eric Clapton - May You Never (Martyn)

Folk/Jazz - a rare combination.

Pentangle - Light Flight

I love the sound of an upright bass. I shall buy myself one, or maybe I can build one.

This looks terrible but sounds amazingly good.

Best wishes
