Wow! Those are some gorgeous pics of Peggy Cummins!

I love Gun Crazy, thanks to the good (or bad) people here at the SSO, who first clued me in to this masterpiece. That picture of them with the glasses is a hoot! I hope all you folks who are traveling out to the festival get to see it, and have an easier time parking than Annie Laurie and Bart did. :D

So you glad to see you posting, Christy! Does that mean that your corner of Texas is okay and not being hit by tornadoes today?

If you loved this delightfully wacky noir and want to indulge the hidden pulp novel voyeur lurking around in your cinematic soul, check out Peggy Cummins and Eddie Muller when they introduce Gun Crazy at 6:45 on Saturday at the Egyptian. If you've never seen it, it's a must!

Miss Cummins is flying in from London for our festival, and I hope she knows how much we appreciate it!
Read more about her at the Special Guests Link on the TCM Festival Link:

To see Peggy Cummins would be a dream!!! But I am torn because at 7:15pm Lugosi's and Karloff's son and daughter will be discussing "THE BLACK CAT." I love lethal ladies...but Karloff & Lugosi....... ACKKKKKKKKKK!!!

Oooh, that's a tough choice! I'd be inclined to check out The Black Cat, too. Is there any way to catch 20 minutes of Peggy and then zip over to see The Black Cat?

B'lieve me (unlike Robert Young) I wish I could do that. And I've thought about it.

The thing is for me, part of waiting on line is getting a good seat. I tend to like to sit close. Now with my pass I'll be in the line of people allowed to enter the theatre first. But there's no guaranteed seating. For example, if I want to see MARSHA HUNT speak about "RAW DEAL" that whole experience last from 12:15pm -2:00pm. At 2:00pm, the conversation with KIM NOVAK starts. If I tried to do both, I'll most likely miss out on having a great seat to see Kim Novak. I've had to make some heartbreaking (to me) choices thanxx to TCM's Torture Film Festival!

Wendy, could you please just come next year? This way if you get in first you can save me a seat...and if I get in first I'll save you a seat AND share my Raisinettes.

Talk to Andrew. Offer him some rye bread. In fact, I'll offer him MY rye bread...and throw in a coupla penguins to boot. Whaddya say?!!! I'm out there alone on this trip although I hope to connect with familiar faces. Ask Andrew and get back to me.

HA! I would dearly love to go! I keep thinking every year that I might make it the next one.

It's gonna take an awful lot of rye bread to get me to L.A. next year.... :D

Well...start kneading that dough now.

Or...you can look at Ro's recipe thread for more ideas that actually have to do with cooking.

You've left me an open invitation here to continue with bawdy talk about rising, but perhaps at this point I should let it drop.

Those going to Hollywood a few days before or staying a few days after the Festival, there are two exhibits you might want to check out:

Television: Out of the Box is at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills and features clothes and props from sixty years of Warner Bros television on display.

The Los Angeles County Art Museum (LACMA) has the wonderful California Design: Living in a Modern Way exhibit. It's part of the larger Pacific Standard Time event that multiple museums have participated in.

LACMA's contribution is a wonderful exhibit of furniture, decorative arts, the Charles and Ray Eames living room, Dick Van Dyke's Avanti automobile, leisure wear, clothing by Adrian and Edith Head, Cole of California and Jantzen. Cedric Gibbons is also on display including a montage of some of his best sets.

When finished with California Design go across the walkway to the other pavilion and check out Metropolis II. Don't miss the history of street lights, Urban Light (especially at dusk) out in front of the Museum and the Levitated Mass in the back of the Museum grounds.

Hey fashionable Festival-goers,

Be sure to bring an umbrella with you this year. Right now showers are predicted for next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

It really does rain (and drizzle) in the City of Angels, especially this time of the year!

Moira, I am fine. No tornado in the Bay Area! Thank you!
Lynn, I surely hope I can make some of those lovely exhibits!

And Miss Mave, there are some VERY difficult choices to make "from the grid!"
Jackie, can I order my loaves online? :D
We all want you there!

THOSE GALS ON THE GO....

Lots of ladies behind the scenes will be presenting or introducing screenings at the festival, some about fashion, some about technical aspects of filmmaking, or just discussing some of their family connections, so I've added their photos along with a link to their individual biographies on the TCM FESTIVAL Links entitled " Special Guests" Page:
