I recently revisited The Bloodstained Butterfly (1971), which has a very unusual, but relevant score--a mixture of Tchaikovsky's Thematic Concerto No. 1 and Jazz/Fusion.

The soundtrack (as in most Giallo) is a heavy factor in uncovering the film's mystery, dealing with the murder of a young girl, who was carrying a recording of--you guessed it--Tchaikovsky's Thematic Concerto No. 1.

Not a great movie, by any stretch of the imagination, but I do like it. When it first came out I had a chance to see it in 70mm and I ended up going three or four times. You're right the music and scenery makes up for its flaws.
