Kaaren Verne, Bogart, Lorre, and William Demarest get laughs from the fabulous Jimmy Durante at the piano

Mongo, this must have happened during the shooting of, or promotion for, All Through the Night, right?

William Demarest is so cute in that picture, no scowl, in fact, he looks sweet! I love him!
Re: *CANDIDS*
Klondike, I would think so since Verne, Bogart, Lorre and Demarest were all in the movie.

Re: *CANDIDS*
Charles Starrett was Myrna Loy's "victim" in the 1932 Pre-Code-Horror-Camp Classic "The Mask of Fu Manchu" (1932), one of my favorite Pre-Codes. I recall I also seieng him in a B movie opposite Anita Page "Jungle Bride" (1933) and in Cukor's magnificent "Royal Family of Broadway" (1930). I have always wanted to see "Fast and Loose" (1930), the only film in which Miriam Hopkins and Carole Lombard appeared together? Starrett played Hopkins' love interest. He became a Western star afterwards; didn't he?

Yes, Fernando, he became the Durango Kid, in a series of successful oat burners.

Talk about cattin' the satin doll - photos like that go a long way to explaining the 20th century obsession with exploring the Amazon.

Re: Duryea
If you want to spend a couple of hours with a cute guy of a 'certain ethnic background', watch PS I Love You. Gerard Butler is dee-lightful.
His wife in the movie says something like 'How come you get to be the cute funny Irish guy and I have to be the responsible adult who worries.'
Okay, so Butler is actually Scottish. Whatever.
And the scenery in Ireland is fab.

Re: *CANDIDS*
And when you guys wanna start digging Gerard Butler hard core, rent Guy Ritchie's London crime opus from last year: Rock N Rolla.
Tarantino loved it, and stole from it, a lot!
Yes, you'll miss nearly half the dialogue, 'cause of the super-chunky urban Brit inflections, but hey, it ain't Proust going on, so following it is pretty simple!
