Have you seen the short piece on TCM done by his son?
Is it the one with
Romeo Carey that was tied to the showing of
THE WORLD'S GREATEST SINNER? That I have seen and recorded, but if there is another....
Then there was the day a movie pal called and asked what I was doing.
Watching and recording I'LL CRY TOMORROW, I replied.
Really? That doesn't seem like your kind of movie.
IMDb says that Timothy Carey's in it, I responded impatiently.
And sure enough, near the end, with no dialogue, he walks across the screen...and makes it all worthwhile. Of his 50+ film appearances (not counting made-for-TV movies), I have only seen 19 (and have 13 of those on some form of recording). Plus a beautiful half-sheet of
BAYOU and a few photos from
THE KILLING OF A CHINESE BOOKIE. Those of us who watched
Baretta,
Charlie's Angels or
Columbo TV movies during their formative years, must have him etched in memory.
May 11 marks the 15th year of his genius passing from this plane to another. And, to think, no screen credit in
THE WILD ONE,
CRIME WAVE, or
EAST OF EDEN.
