Hands down, Leo Carrillo must have been the most popular City Councilman that L.A. ever had; after all, not just anybody gets a beach named after him!

If this photo was taken in 1953, it was probably from the time they were working together on Broadway with John Brown's Body, which opened in February -- Laughton adapted the book and directed, and Anderson was in the cast.mongoII wrote:

The rest of the cast was Raymond Massey and Tyrone Power. It's a fantastic production, fortunately preserved on disc. I have a digital copy... if anyone wants it, send me a private message. If this photo was taken in 1953, it was probably from the time they were working together on Broadway with John Brown's Body, which opened in February -- Laughton adapted the book and directed, and Anderson was in the cast.

Great pic, I only wish the colors were a wee tad stronger - if they were, I could just maybe ID that tartan on the harper's stool.

That photo looks to me to be a colorized black and white, and so the colors applied may well not be the originals. If they were any stronger, you may have been led on a wild-tartan-chase.klondike wrote:Great pic, I only wish the colors were a wee tad stronger - if they were, I could just maybe ID that tartan on the harper's stool.
