I just saw Hedy Lamar and James Stewart in "Come Live With Me" (1941). A delightful movie.

Hi Joe & Moira,

I can't see that picture of the Bogart party anymore; but when I glimpsed it yesterday I thought the woman in the red lace dress was Nancy (Slim) Hayward but am not sure...
I'd have to see it again but don't know what happened to it.....
Slim was married to Howard Hawks, Leyland Hayward and then Lord Keith; she was a great friend of Lauren Bacall's, so that's why I think it's her!!! But, not sure....

Marco,

Gwili Andre was someone who didn't make it very far in Hollywood... She later set herself ablaze and mercifully died.... Horrible...

Charles Boyer and Hedy Lamarr celebrated the New Year 1939, 71 years ago
It's made my New Year, thank you.

What a handsome couple they make and how I'd love to know what he's saying to her to make her smile so much. I bet it wasn't ' Come with me to the Kasbah' not said by Boyer to Hedy Lamarr as they were always in the Kasbah but heard recently by Pepe le Pew to the object of his desire on my childrens Looney Tunes DVD (a great Christmas present, the old ones keep them the quietest)

Larry, it seems the image was edited out. I did find another image although it has a logo spread across it. It also contained a caption describing the people:

ImageCaption: 24th December 1951: Christmas eve at the Bogart's house in Beverly Hills. From l to r; Kendall and Lewis Milestone, Mrs Oscar Levant (June Gale), film star Clifton Webb and hostess Lauren Bacall (Mrs Humphrey Bogart). (Photo by Slim Aarons/Getty Images)

Hi Joe,

Yes, now that I look at the photo more in depth, I can see it isn't Slim Hayward - she was blonder. Never heard of June Gale but she does resemble Slim....
