Ah, what a nice photo of Roscoe Karns. I find his oily, fast talking characters fascinating. Makes me wonder if he was the shy, retiring type in real life. :D

PT, it's ironic you posted a shot from the movie "Foreign Correspondent" since todays birthday boy Albert Bassermann was nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar for that film.

Hi,

In 1958, when I was at university in Heidelberg, a young man from Ottawa was in one of my classes.
He said that Dorothy Lamour had been a guest star at the Ottawa Festival of Tulips that year. And, she was absolutely "the most gorgeous lady he'd ever seen!!"....
Not bad for someone who must have been in her late forties by then.....

Miss Lamour was one of the few stars of whom I never heard a bad word - she was well liked in Hollywood..
