I did as directed Chris and also changed one title: I deleted "Remember the Night" in favor of "Peter Ibbetson".

Not that I would ever try to sway anyone, but I really, really hope someone else tosses out a vote for Goldfinger! C'mon people, this is James Bond we're talking about here. Sean Connery at his coolest! Of course, if others wanted to vote for On His Majesty's Secret Service who would complain?!

I updated my list. I knocked out Cabaret and The Killer and replaced them with Robin Hood 1922 and Support Your Local Sheriff 1969.

I updated my list too.
Set some of them to the numbers 1-9 in order of preference. "Preference" will in this case mean: in terms of overall quality / style.
I don't like numbering them like this.

One of my all time favourites: "Viva Las Vegas" was left unnumbered because it's hardly a classic and it has many weaknesses when it comes to plot and characters. But, I love Elvis and Ann-Margret + the above average direction / cinematography for a 1960's Elvis movie (and the music of course!)

Love this game, cinemalover! Thank you for starting it!

OHMSS might boast Diana Rigg lolling in deshabille around cozy chalets, and a so-hot-it's-cool jazz score by Sir Satchmo, and Goldfinger can be fun for all the gadgetry & globetrotting, but if you're talking Bond at his swingin' coolest, you gotta bow most deeply to YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE !!
I mean we're talkin' that witchy-surreal theme song by Ms. Sinatra, weaving through blacklight lava & semi-nude Geishas; we're talkin' Sumo hitmen, gun-toting ninjas, judo-chopping Japanese federales, helicopter shoot-outs . . for cryin' out loud, Man, we're talkin' Tiger Tanaka . . . does it get any cooler than that ?!!
(ready for rebuttal, tongue firmly in cheek . . )

While I won't diss the merits of You Only Live Twice, I mean Sean getting folded away in a Murphy bed like yesterday's dirty sheets, how's he going to breathe? Oh wait, those kind gentlemen with the rapid fire weaponry will help add some ventilation for him. Whoops, I hope they didn't mean to hit him. Now we have to go through that whole burial at sea stuff, think of the cost to Her Majesty! I will grant that it is a very entertaining movie, but does it have an Odd-Job and his deadly hat? Does it introduce the coolest spy car ever in the form of an Auston Martin? I mean who wouldn't want that ejection seat for relatives overstaying their welcome during the holidays? Tiger Tanaka is a super cool name, but can it compete with a moniker like Pussy Galore, I think not! Fort Knox, a car made of gold to get through customs, and the best retort ever from a villain when Goldfinger responds, "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die.". And those are just a few high points.

I take 5 point s off of "OHMSS" because in the car chase on the beach the tires squeal. The punches in the fights are a bit loud.

Now, "You Only Live Twice" does have the biggest gun battle. As mentioned "Goldfinger" does have "Pussy Galore." "YOLT" has the personal size helicopter while "Goldfinger" has "Pussy Galore."(That's worth repeating.) "YOLT" has lasers in space. "Goldfinger" crushes a brand new beautiful Lincoln. (5 Points off for the silly little terry-cloth "robe" Bond wears at the hotel pool.)

Good point there, Chris '57: any film that features a Ford Motor Company product being crushed back into junk, definitely deserves applause!

Personally I think OHMSS is the 2nd best Bond movie of all time behind GOLDFINGER and ahead of CASINO ROYALE.

Ahhh, yes; thanks for the memories . . .
See, I used to give-out a cheer for that particular moment . . . but now, seeing as how the slavering hydra that is Ford Motor Company (feel free to transpose the "Fo-" with a "Tu-"

) has purchased The Aston Martin Automobile Corp. (along with Volvo, Mazda, Jaguar & British Leyland) the Mustank vs. Aston scene from Goldfinger just feels kinda, I dunno, cannibalistic?

Ah well, at least there's still the aero-magnetic carnapping from You Only Live Twice: pretty sure the model dispatched thereby was also a Blue Oval atrocity!
