Aw, shucks. Today is my birthday. I didn't make the cut on this thread last year, either. So, I decided to post it myself!

I lurk a lot, but I truly love reading everyone's posts here. Having a quiet day at home today, and then off to rehearsal tonight. I'm directing a production of The Sound of Music. Hope my husband bought me a cake!

I only found out about it on your Facebook page. I guess when you signed up here you didn't include your birthday or it would have come up on our page.

Chris, you are right--my birthday isn't in my profile. I can't figure out how to edit my profile to put it on there. I should've realized that was why--face palm.

I LOVED the edelweiss photo! Fun fact--many people think that the Edelweiss song is an Austrian folk song, but it was written by Rodgers and Hammerstein for the show.

AND funnier fact related to the Dainty June photo: years ago I was in a production of Gypsy as the stripper Tessie Tura. I was also the dance captain. The girl playing Dainty June had to be replaced one week before we opened. Because the strippers were only in the second act, and June was only in the first act, AND because I was the only one who knew all the dances, I played June wearing a blonde wig, and then Tessie Tura in a red wig. Crazy. But fun. Also, I had to learn to twirl 2 batons while doing the splits. In one week. I did ok with the batons, but I always had to cheat and bend my leg on the splits. I was really a bargain basement Dainty June, but I was a spectacular Tessie Tura, if I may say so myself!

WoW, Sandy! The only thing you didn't do when playing all those demanding roles was ride a unicycle and jump through a flaming hoop--though it probably felt as though you had afterwards (but I bet it was exhilarating too!).
