Oh, dear -- I'm trying not to hog the proceedings here, but I recognize the photo. I'll say no more. I'm sure someone else can figure this one out.

Thanks Joe...Did his mother Evie married afterwards Keenan's best friend Van Johnson? That story always sounded so weird to me.

Yes, Fernando, Evie and Van did get married and it was a weird situation.
If fact Ned Wynn wrote a book "We Will Always Live In Beverly Hills" which details, humorously and candidly, the enormous amount of celebrity contact he's had, and the sometimes sad but more often funny experiences he's had being among the elite of Hollywood, being the son and grandson of two accomplished actors as well as the stepson of actor Van Johnson.

Clue #2: Her dad once worked as a towel boy in a brothel, on an oil rigger, as a trinket salesman in a carnival, and as a lumberjack.

And another sidenote here: Keenan Wynn also wrote a memoir called, appropriately, "Ed Wynn's Son." I found it in a used book store. Very interesting -- I hadn't really been aware that Ed Wynn was so wealthy as a result of his career. Essentially the same excesses that Ned experienced as a boy were first experienced by his father as the son of Ed Wynn. The whole book is, though, rather understated and polite, since almost everyone who figured in it was still alive when it was written.

Keenan W. relates that after he and Evie broke up, the three of them, she, Johnson and himself, remained friends. One night he arrived at the Johnson's for dinner, and found Evie and Van having an argument in another room. Van came into the living room, looked at Keenan and said in an exasperated voice "How would you like to be married to such a woman?" It's all so very Noel Coward civilized, n'est-ce pas?
