Back to Raquel Welsh -
WHERE DOES THE TIME GO . . . ?

Years ago my jockey husband was beating his chest impressing a group of young riders by telling them that he rode for Betty Grable. One said:
"who's Betty Grable?" I told this to Patrick Curtis who was the producer of the Golden Boot Awards and he said that's nothing: "I was giving a talk to a group of men and I said, I was married to Raquel Welsh for six years . . . one asked, "who's Raquel Welsh."

Did Boris Karloff work out in a gym regularly? I know he did a great deal of heavy labor as a younger man, but he turned sixty the year of the release of Unconquered (1947) when this picture you posted was taken He must have had an exceptional constitution, because he sure didn't look like other men that age in that period.

Moira, I was alternately shocked and thrilled to read a piece of research on Boris that frankly made me blush. How can I put this delicately -- apparently Karloff (in his relative "younger" years, and I'm assuming either between marriages; he had six wives, one more even than Bela!) or before the first one -- was a favorite, dare I say prodigious, customer of some ladies of the evening, who delivered glowing reviews of their client's prowess. Perhaps this particular activity was what kept him in shape later on in life. :D :D :D :D :D :D

I know, I can't believe it either, lol.

Hi,

Apparently there was a birthday party for Ursula Andress in Rome yesterday, given by her son Dmitri... It took place in the Borghese Gardens - a great place to be...
Gina Lollobrigida, Anita Ekberg, Claudia Cardinale and Bo Derek were there. I'd love to see that picture!
