Today is the 11th anniversary of the U.S. national holiday known as Tartan Day, as passed by an Act of Congress in 1998, for the express purpose of designating a specific day annually to recognize and/or celebrate the immense & typically-overlooked contributions & sacrifices of Scottish immigrants, & their descendants, in the founding, strengthening, improvement & defense of life in these United States, and, as U.S. citizens, on behalf of the entire Planet.

My two favorite female entertainers, Agnes M. and Judy G., both had Scottish ancestry. Let's hear it for the scottish immigrants, and for the ones still in the highlands.
