Does Brief Encounter music sould like pop song

Post by stuart.uk »

I watched Brief Encounter today and listening to the piece of classica music that accomapnies the film I thought I heard traces of the modern day pop ballad All By Myself.

I wonder if the composer of the song was inspired by the film. However, it could be my imagination

Eric Carmen, former singer for The Raspberries, used a Rachmaninoff work for part of All By Myself.

The theme from the concerto was also made for the old standard "Full Moon and Empty Arms." But that was awhile ago.
