Cat People!

I also like the Vargas style pinup, Rosie the Riveter and the Books Wanted poster from WWI.

Oh and I actually think the poster for The Black Cat the best of all the ones I saw on the first 6 pages.

Thank you. That's very sweet. I have to tell The Bride as I have a birthday coming and they never know what to get me. I am also looking to get the same Beatles coasters that Wendy has adorning her living room.

I'd love to have movie posters adorning my wall space and I had lots of wallspace to fill this being a 3 storey house I would have loved them going up the stairs, my preference was for thirties movies, an astaire movie, a precode, a Berkeley musical, that kind of thing but Chris didn't agree but we compromised on 1920s/30s travel posters. How I'd love to be let lose on that site.

Ooh I love the William Powell one! I've never seen For the Defense either, he and Kay made a good team.

mm, you'll have to ask T where she got the Beatles coasters. They are super I use them all the time and switch them out every so often since we only use about 3 of them at a time. Alice and I played a game with them one day, making it up as we went along, turning them over and guessing which one was which. She likes the covers of A Hard Day's Night and Sgt. Pepper, no surprise there.

MissG - I must have missed the Stagecoach one, I'll have to go back and look.

Alison, I used to have the yellow Top Hat poster in my room as a kid, and my mom had a bunch of silent movie posters in our basement- I remember my fave was The Douglas Fairbanks Thief of Baghdad poster in aqua blue. I can just imagine your house with the posters going up the stairs, as much as I love old movies I really adore vintage travel posters, especially the ones from the 1920's. They are so sophisticated and I love the colors. Some of my faves are the take your dog by rail posters:

Has anyone seen this photo before? I just love it in connection to the previous posters, lol:

Wendy:

I found the coasters on Amazon.

April:

I saw the L&H pad. There are westerns and dramas and all kinds of things. I never had a real poster but I have reprints of "It Happened One Night" and L&H's "Beau Hunks" and The Marx Brothers "Duck Soup" along with a Beatles poster in my Man Closet. My daughter has a Bond poster she won't give up that was mine.

What? Were you withholding information on the best ones just to tick me off?

Any of the following would make fine gifts for the man in your life who lives in Chicago and is a member of SSO:

The Man from Planet X
Plan 9 from Outer Space
I Walked with a Zombie

But if your really want to win his heart:

Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
Gun Crazy

I love the dog posters, our posters are of places we've been or want to go to, I'm in the habit of collecting some ornament everywhere we go and to have the posters too it says something about us. I'd still love a film poster though.

No lady would ever do that.

You're right, though, they should have one of Harry Carey.

I missed that one, but I must admit it not a very appealing image.

Oh...and I was thinking of MacDonald Carey.

Not Timothy Carey, ChiO? Ha! Well...

And how could you get any work done scrolling over Tura Satana with a mouse?

I'd never scroll over Tura (she might break my arm). I'd frame that mouse pad with her autograph (she was visiting her hometown to introduce a showing of FASTER, PUSSYCAT! KILL! KILL!) that I got shortly before she went to that Great Cinema in the sky.
