Hi Sue Sue, I love the photos you post, though I don't know the people (except two, not counting TCM hosts and celebrities.) Just two very special ones (with the same name but spelled differently I believe, hee hee), both formerly on TCM Boards. I used to visit your Sue Sue thread on occasion on TCM. One can always count on smiling faces and not to sound corny, but there is something in that given the news here and overthere(s). Here, but not at TCM, every post gets to pass in review and so I look forward to every time pops it to the top.

Thanks, lafitte! Since working as credentialed media at the festival since 2014, I have about 11,000 photos from years past. Since the demise of the boards, I’ll try to post here 2-3 times a week if I can. Since I’m busy working on Thelma Ritter’s biography, and also have a job, I’ve been pretty busy lately. 😊

Rest in Peace, Ted Donaldson. (August 20,1933-March 1,2023)
Ted was a good friend to his many fans at the #TCMFF. He was interviewed by SSO Guest Author Jeremy Arnold before a screening of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn in 2016, and attended many pre-festival parties for social media fans of the festival.

Well, I’m still waiting on another announcement. I’m hoping to find out what our opening night film will be soon. In the meantime, take a ride on the Angel’s Flight Railway in LA…(Video by Sue Sue)

My travel companion keeps pestering me about the opening night film. He doesn't believe me when I tell him they haven't announced it yet (even though we don't have a pass to see it!) I don't recall the announcement of the opening night film taking this long before.

txfilmfan, for a few years it did take a while. Sometimes it would be a month before the festival. The schedule, however, usually comes about 3 weeks away. I think we will hear something soon!

Over the weekend, I finally got all my reservations finalized. We got our tix to the WB Studio Classics Tour w/ the TCMFF discount. I got my last dining reservation at a Oaxacan Mexican restaurant in Koreatown. And we figured out how to fit Pink's Hot Dogs into the schedule. Lol. Now we're just shopping for odds and ends before the trip. I can't wait until the final schedule is released. I'm excited that I will get to make the difficult scheduling decisions along with everyone else instead of living vicariously through them.
