The Amos and Andy TV Show

Post by ken123 »

As I child I thought that Tim Moore as " THE KINGFISH " was great. Should the old show be back on TV in reruns ?

By all means, yes!! Back in the 50s and early 60s this consistently hilarious comedy was a mainstay rerun hit. In the late 60s it was unceremoniously yanked from syndication and relegated to the dust bin of popular culture. Political Correctness had once more reared its unattractive head, depriving Americans of the CHOICE as to whether to watch it or not. And while a great many people, both black and white, felt (and continue to feel) that the program promoted negative stereotypes, one thing cannot be denied: a hugely talented ensemble cast is now all but forgotten. Most, if not all of the episodes are available on DVD and vhs tape.
