SOUTH OF THE BORDER NOIR at the PFA in Berkeley!

My good friend Steve Seid has programmed an absolutely brilliant film noir series
at the PFA in Berkeley focusing on films set (at least in part) in Mexico. Those lucky
enough to be living here in the Bay Area should make a bee-line over there, like
pronto!
Here's a terrific piece that appeared in this morning's edition of the San Francsico
Bay Guardian by Dennis Harvey:

What a great idea for a program of films, Elliot. I hope you'll be in attendance and let us know more about the experience.

Oh, there you go again, Mr. Ark. How can that be noir? It's a Western and made after 1958. Ergo, it can't be noir...only nasty, violent, and bad.

So...OUT OF THE PAST and TOUCH OF EVIL do battle once again for the sordid Soul of Noir.

Meanwhile, in the City on the Lake, Noir City will be visiting once again in August.
