The Academy's Most Wanted

Post by Lzcutter »

The Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences has announced its latest initiative, Most Wanted:

The Academy Film Archive's mission to preserve and restore our film heritage has rescued many titles almost lost forever, but many others have yet to be saved.

Some of the missing films feature notable directors and actors, and with a little luck, they could be hiding anywhere just waiting to be rediscovered. Click on the links above to find out more about our mission, some cases in progress, and even a few happy success stories.

Help spread the word about our preservation efforts and search to find these lost treasures.

And please, check your school collections, vaults, garages, yard sales, and even the back corners of your closets. We'd love to hear from you!

"Film is history. With every foot of film lost, we lose a link to our culture, to the world around us, to each other and to ourselves."
