Car Chases on TCM, Wed., Jan 4

TCM will be featuring movies with car chases this evening. Begins with Bullitt at 8 PM. I read once that the Mustang in Bullitt had to be replaced several times, whereas they only needed one Charger.
Next up is High Sierra with Humphrey Bogart being pursued by police on a mountain road. At 12:15 AM there is Gun Crazy The Big Steal follows at 2:00 AM. This is one of my favorite movies featuring Robert Mitchum, Jane Greer and William Bendix. The car chase is an interesting excursion across part of Mexico. It also has an interesting backstory as to how it was made.
