Masha, BRAVO!!!
Masha could have gone one other way too with that.
Hanks was in Charlie Wilson's War (and Larry Crowne) with Julia Roberts
Julia Roberts was in Pretty Woman with Ralph Bellamy
And then just repeat her last step.

Lon Chaney Jr. in: Sally, Irene and Mary (1938) (uncredited) with: Gypsy Rose Lee
Thanks, Masha, although I always hesitate to use uncredited performances.
Gypsy Rose Lee in: Stage Door Canteen (1943) with: Ina Claire
Ina Claire in: Ninotchka (1939) with: Bela Lugosi

I am genuinely humbled to have such sharp people on this thread. Man oh man you guys put my own so-called knowledge to shame!

Saints preserve us! That is tacky beyond all belief. (And anyone who has seen Thoroughly Modern Millie should know that in the 20s the term referred to a naive yokel, as opposed to what it means now)

I know, right? For all their (obnoxious, imo) progressive direction, TCM remains amusingly square, lol.

Oh, I dunno. I actually think that that was kind of clever.

I don't think it's tacky at all.

Can anyone connect Anna Paquin to Bela Lugosi in 6 or less steps without using the oracle app?

Holden, because my curiosity got the better of me and so have just used it to do just this (but don't worry, I won't make the answer it gave me known here) I have to say the names of the connections used and the movies they were in really surprised and delighted me.
(...okay, I can't resist...here's a clue for those who would like to try to figure this one out by themselves...the bottom connection to Bela entails one of the few comedies he was in and in which he plays himself in a cameo performance...and then the next connection up from there would be a cast member of that film who even at 9 years of age at the time was small enough in size to have played an infant...the next connection up from this entails an actor/comedian who is noted for doing a great Peter Falk impression...the entire connection can surprisingly be done using only three films)

Well, it does have a nice touch of anachronism. How many barbs can boast that?

Anna Paquin and Sean Connery were in Finding Forrester
Sean Connery and Richard Widmark were in Murder on the Orient Express
Richard Widmark and Patric Knowles were in The Way West
Patric Knowles and Bela Lugosi were in The Wolf Man
Didn't use the oracle, but did look Paquin up on IMDb and went from there.

Damn, Dargo! LOL
Here I am still trying to figure this out and giving myself a migraine while quicker brains than moi, i.e. Detective Jim and Fedya, have already come up with brilliant answers.

Heads-up for Debbie's lovely dramatic performance this evening: THE CATERED AFFAIR. Hunky Rod Taylor (or as everyone in the movie refers to him: "the boy with the glasses") is her sweetheart.
We never had anyone like Rod in my old Bronx neighborhood....all the guys looked like Nick Adams.
