MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
Poor Dr. Kimble. That guy threw away more gym bags than anyone I knew of.
I haven't seen The Godfather in a long time. A totally disgusting family.
Kill 'em all. I suppose chocolate donuts aren't considered Italian food. Oh well.

Wow, I never even heard of that one, much less starring Connie Stevens.
Connie Stevens was one of the teachers in GREASE 2.
She was on hand for the infamous "Reproduction" number featuring Tab Hunter as the sex education teacher.
How could anyone not love this?
Just sayin' . . .
My favorite song in the movie, followed by Cool Rider.
Yes! "Cool Rider" is the bomb!
It's another "how can anyone not love it" songs for me.

Eeh! Sorry Holden, but that little Honda CL160 Scrambler isn't all THAT "cool", dude! And who around here would know best about THAT than I, I ask?! LOLHoldenIsHere wrote: ↑April 11th, 2024, 1:25 am

Oh and sorry again here Holden, but that "Cool Rider" little ditty ALSO isn't nearly as cool, nor as good, NOR as rockin' a song as CCR's "Sweet Hitch-Hiker" here is EITHER, kid! ...
(...oh, and btw Bronxie, thanks again for givin' me the go-ahead to talk "motorcycles" earlier here...came in REAL handy in this case, didn't it?!) LOL

Fair enough, Dargo.
But maybe you're more a fan of "Girl For All Seasons/(Love Will) Turn Back The Hands Of Time," which features Judy Garland's other daughter as the Girl For Summer.

Eeh, not bad I suppose, Holden. However when it comes to this sort'a thing (a parody of a musical staged setpiece within a movie, that is), I gotta say this one's never gonna replace the "Beautiful Girl" sequence in my heart and that was in that movie where Gene Kelly dances around while gettin' drenced in rain.HoldenIsHere wrote: ↑April 12th, 2024, 3:51 pm

Btw, I'd forgotten that Lorna Luft was in this one, but then again having only watched 'Grease 2' once in my life years ago (AND so never becoming as big a fan of it was you are) this would probably explain why I didn't remember this, huh!

Holden, how could I forget Girl For All Seasons??? I think I would put that one ahead of Cool Rider!
My brain is shrinking to walnut-size....
Everybody, do not forget DIABOLIQUE on Monday. Between that classic French horror movie and PSYCHO, I couldn't even enter my bathroom for about a week without shuddering.

Correction -- DIABOLIQUE is on tomorrow (Sunday), not Monday.
One of the greatest horror movies ever made in my opinion.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
HBO did a TV movie about Grey Gardens in 2009 with Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange as the Edies. I enjoyed that version more than the original documentary because of its more humane and empathetic approach.
Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
I saw the outro to GREY GARDENS last night while I was waiting for Noir Alley. Olivia Wilde, wearing a lovely green pantsuit, was the guest who had chosen it. She said all the things you might expect--no, it wasn't exploitative, the Maysles Brothers weren't manipulative, etc. That's not how I saw it, the time I watched the first 20 or 30 minutes, as much as I could stomach. Of course, the film has its admirers, too.
