While I'm not a fan of heavy-handed moderation by moderators, there has to be a line. In addition, like refs and umpires, consistency is key.

Note that two threads have been 'locked' in the last 24 hours. The mod 'opened the gates', the cuss words started to flow, and then the thread was locked. Sounds like moderation is going from one extreme to the other. I.e., generally saying 'post what you want' and then when it is too-out-there, locking the thread (instead of just deleting the posts).

I understand being a mod is a difficult, often, thankless job. Where I'm confused is I don't know what the boundaries are.

The rules regarding language are pretty wimpy on this website. See the link I previously supplied.
Keeping in mind it probably wasn't an issue when this forum was created.
The old TCM forum was heavily moderated. I got banned there by making idle threats to Mod 1.
Kind of stupid obvious I couldn't do anything hazardous. Duh.
I am still banned by Classicfilmtvradio.
That is against policy with ProBoards.
I gave the owner/moderator what for and I'm banned.
You know what happened, don't you James?
Lucky Dan too. Others who didn't have the guts to reveal themselves.
Worst issue was zero acceptance from said moderator, who made excuses for not being able to take care of his forum.
I won't forget anything, but am willing to set the past aside.
That said, I have a short fuse for things here, one of the only forums I haven't been booted from.
I appreciate Lomm as the only noticeable moderator here. Like you, I'm puzzled.

Since you're reopening the topic, we both said was in the past, I'm commenting: No one was banned from the other site. I do know what happened and it isn't what you believe did happen. I am able to view the forum using a VPN. That's all.
I am banned from using the forum on any device in my home.
You don't believe the abuse I received was a problem.
Some here on this forum do not agree.

I feel for ya JIMIMAC. I've been a member of several online forums for more than 20 years. And only recently(last five or so years) have noticed several of them threatening me and others due to mine and their refusal to silently suffer fools. Using idiotic oxymoronic non terms like "Passive-aggressive". Apparently, they expect us to forget we're in America before we form and post any reply. Or have any "side discussions". Like you did too concerning Intrepid's and my female genitalia slang debate. Even after I tried getting back on track by posting a video clip you mentioned how you'd wield your power if you were a mod.

And now, again, I'd like to get back on track......

By the Sapiantone I noticed youtrailed intrepid on TB wedbsite and posted the same video on his own video posting,it looks like harassment to me, you should join EP millstone where ever he is but he was more interesting than you though..So many good posters are gone ,miss you Larry..
