Re: To Dream of Dogs
I do have the filthiest garage in the world but it gets cleaned from time to time! HI Birdy... your garage sounds like the area around my kitchen door... at least on rainy days... (and off and on all winter when the snow melts.) Sometimes I call it the MUD PIT.. ha. (Thank goodness for my Swiffer w...

We have a American Cocker Spaniel (just over a year old) named Famous Amos. (we just call him Amos) We chose the name because when the lady we bought him from d...
Re: appaloosa
he's sort of a mystery character most of the time, one of those quiet men (sorry) who just ride their horses or go into battle without too much self consciousness Hiya Jackie.... I don't know how "mysterious" he is in this film... but he is pretty much a "quiet man" (ha). Maybe ...

Re: Thomas Mitchell
Hi Miss Finnie... thanks for that terrific link. I have been a fan of Thomas Mitchell for a long time... but I just did not KNOW it...ha. It has only been in the last couple of years that I started realizing he was a part of so many of my favorite movies... as in: "Oh yeah... that's the guy in ...
Re: appaloosa
She taunts me with it! I'll end up having to watch QUIET MAN every other time I get onto her threads!! HA!! All a part of my master plan to take over the world through forcing people to watch THE QUIET MAN... ha. (kidding...only kidding.... I don't really want to take over the WORLD... maybe just t...
Re: appaloosa
Thanks Mr. Movieman.... I do love my sweet Maureen!! ha. I hope you enjoy Appaloosa... I will look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. I think it needed a little "something" to make it a GREAT story... but overall it was still entertaining. (it is NO Siverado, though.) :) On some level...

I hate starting new threads.... I looked for one about this one.. but did not see it... so forgive me if I missed it... ANYWAY... I FINALLY got to see this film. Re: Open Range
The ending is violent but I think it fits the scenario and the men. The one part where Duvall shoots through the wall and hits that man knocking him into the building was quite a surprise I agree that is was a fitting scenario... but still I have to scrunch my eyes now and then.... Imminent Spoilag...

Re: The Hanging Tree
Maybe that is why I liked the "still weak and blind" part of her performance so much... her eyes were still covered by the bandages....HA.MissGoddess wrote:Miss Schell does kind of stare really hard sometimes at her scene partners that I wonder they didn't find it somewhat disconcerting, ha!

Re: The Hanging Tree
Well... I know you folks have your reasons to think otherwise, but I still thought she did a good job. I thought the scenes where she was still weak and blind were really well played.... but I also enjoyed the rest of her performance too. Was it a stand out performance? No... But I still thought she...

Re: The Hanging Tree
Hellooooo Miss Goddess!!!! It's not really a very action oriented film to me---rather like Daves' 3:10 to Yuma, he focuses on character (though with a much less loquacious central character in the person of Coop). I think that is a GREAT way to describe this one... not very "action oriented&quo...

Re: The Hanging Tree
Hiya Jackie.... she was an interesting mix in this one.... innocent and fragile at one moment... and strong and determined to stand on her own two feet the next. And I LOVE her voice... very melodic. I am not too familiar w/ some of her other work, but I thought she did a very nice job in this one.
