Re: YOU Tube'n
Here's a little movie I never heard of which I stumbled upon at YouTube. OMG - I finally get the chance to see this! Thanks so much for finding and posting MissG; this had played TWICE on the big screen at The Stanford Theatre in Palo Alto (my home away from home)over the past few years and both ti...

Re: BOGART
Found this clip from a tribute to Lauren Bacall - includes interviews with Leslie and Stephen Bogart and Sam Robards. I found it interesting as I've never seen Leslie Bogart before.

Re: "Lost" Movies Found on YouTube
I can't recall if this got posted before, but thought I'd revive this thread just in case. Bette Davis' film debut (with a very young Bogart) THE BAD SISTER (1931).

Re: Claude Rains in September
Christy - this was an OLD thread I revived as I thought it was the most appropriate place to post about the film THIS LOVE OF OURS which I found on Youtube. Sorry for the confusion, but Claude was SOTM back in September 2009 when this thread was first started.

Re: Claude Rains in September
Some one over in the "Information Please" thread on the TCM board was asking about a film which sounded intriguing - it was identified as THIS LOVE OF OURS (1945) which stars Merle Oberon and Claude Rains - I've never heard of this film?! A Universal melodrama/soap opera directed by Willia...

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
I saw Williams on the WE in the 1930 version of " Charley's Aunt ". Oh gosh - this looks like it is his first film role. I believe it just played recently on TCM, but I don't have that channel right now, so didn't catch it. The earliest film I've seen Hugh Williams in is the excellent ROM...

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
I am a Hugh Williams fan but somehow he's always gone under the radar for most people. Count me as a fan too! I guess most, like myself recall him only as that unlikable wuss Hindley in WUTHERING HEIGHTS, and as I saw him in more films I'd say to myself "Oh, there is Hindley". But then wi...

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
I watched these films on Saturday and Sunday: “ Brief Ecstasy ” (1937) Thanks to Christine I was able to watch this very interesting British film directed by Edmond T. Gréville, with a very adult story, which would have been un-filmable that same year in Hollywood (under the Production Code). The v...

Re: Anton Walbrook
Wouldn't it be great if Anton's German movies could be shown on TCM's Sunday Night's World Cinema spot? Yes, I wish they would expand their Sunday foreign cinema offerings in general, and I'd sure love if they could highlight some of AW's films. I am also impressed with Walbrook as he was multi-lin...

Re: Marius Goring
I've grown to like Marius Goring more as time passes, and would love to see more of his films - he sure had a long career in film and television. Of course the first film I saw him in was THE RED SHOES, and I am afraid he did not quite fit my idea of romantic lead - somewhat like how I feel about Le...

Re: Anton Walbrook
He was also Prince Albert in Victoria The Great and Sixty Glorious Years. These two films used to play on US TV 20-30 years ago, and were the first films I recall seeing Anton in. But I have not seen these anywhere in ages - wonder why? I know some of Anton’s early films are now out in German DVD, ...

Re: Coming Up on TCM
Moira - I had only stumbled across that clip from THE RAT recently - too bad the OP hasn't uploaded the whole film, but at least we know it survives. Wow, lovely pics of Rene Ray - she is stunning; and Anton has that "look" down pat doesn't he? Thanks for posting. (Oh, also your prior avat...

Wait, wait, Western Guy.... *Whew* ... You met Jack LaRue?? .. You met Lloyd Nolan?? Please, Western Guy, give us more. I know I'm not the only one who loves these actors. What Moira said! Your calling Jack LaRue a "sweet guy" confirms what I'd heard about him in the past. I did find a ph...

Re: WHAT SILENTS & PRE-CODES HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
Thanks to "YOUTUBE" I watched the very interesting Paramount film, " Evenings for Sale " This is but ONE of the 18 or 19 movies on my little list to watch on Youtube - thanks for the review and I will bump this one up to the top - I'm always on the look out for those Paramounts....
