Post by stuart.uk »

Bernard Cribbens over the last 50 odd yrs has appeared with more famous stars than him, but he's outlasted many of them.

In the 1950s he had small roles in Escape Of The Amythiest and Dunkirk, before starring with Peter Sellers in Two Way Stretch and The Long Arm Of The Law. He also starred in the 2nd Peter Cushing Doctor Who film and was PCs man sevent in She. Cribbens also played oppisite Juliet Mills in I'm Alright Jack. In the early 60s Cribben's had a novelty hit record Right Said Fred, which is still popular over 40-rs later. He finished the 60s with one his best loved roles as railway porter Mr. Perks in The Railway Children.

In the 70s, Cribben's narrated the popular children's animanted UK tv show The Wombles.

In recent yrs Cribben's had a couple of cameos as a star gazer in Doctor Who, but the part grew bigger as his character Wilf became the grandfather of Catherine Tate's Donna Noble when she became the Doc's new assistant. In David Tennant's final episode The End Of Time The Doctor gives up his 9th regeneration to save Wilf's life
